Les Petites Morts

Angelina Jolie - Vampire by Kervin RWhat Does La Petite Mort Mean?

La petite mort, meaning “the little death”, is a French idiom or euphemism for “orgasm” (click here for more details).

The Title of My Series – Les Petites Morts

Thanks to my friend (whom I cannot name, or his mother would kill him), I have decided to use this euphemism for the title of my erotic short story series. Each of these stories have the following in common:

  • 10,000 words or less
  • HOT erotic tales
  • Paranormal
  • Twist ending

I LOVE the double entendre of the “the little death”: orgasm (erotic), little (short story), death (horror). How perfect, non? With a little help from my friend Pilar Kuhn (website and Twitter), who speaks fluent French, I'm pluralizing the term! Les Petites Morts – meaning multiple orgasms/multiple short erotic stories. AHHHHH! I love it! Thank you, He Who Shall Not Be Named and Pilar!!

How the Heck Do You Say It?

I'll spell it phonetically here, but you can also click on the words below and go to Google Translate, where clicking on the little speaker icon will play the pronunciation.

la petite mort – lah peh-TEET mohr

les petites morts – lay peh-TEETS mohr

Summaries of the Stories in the Series

Here are the “back of the book blurbs” for each of the stories in the series. As they become available for sale, the site will be updated with buy links and get their own pages. Click on the titles that are available to see book covers and author notes.

Please note: These are NOT HEA (happily ever after) or HFN (happily for now) endings. These are pure erotic tales and can be considered “erotic horror”, so some of the characters might not be entirely likable – like my friend Russell Schmidt in One To Die For. But their character personalities are written to fit the stories (e.g., Russell has to be an arrogant prick for the ending I've written…or the story doesn't work).

Some of the stories might be a little on the creepy side regarding the horror element, but the sex should be HOT and erotic, designed to titillate my readers. They will NOT contain creepy sex – meaning subject matter like bestiality, child pornography, rape or incest.

One To Die For (M/F) – Published

Fame, fortune and females are the life for Russell Schmidt! However, reaching rock-star status through his self-published vampire novels isn’t enough. Trailing after a mysterious woman in red leads to heights of ecstasy he’s never known. But Russ soon finds the tables turned, and his next one-night stand may be to die for!

Hot Rod Haunting (F/F/M – ménage) – Published

On a girl’s night out, Kami Jacobs and Mona Rand begin to explore their secret attraction for each other, when an opportunity to lure a specter from the grave is too tempting to ignore. What starts out as a paranormal prank turns into a scorching encounter with Kenny Denman, a hot-rod hunk, and the girls would rather play with him than ghosts.

Hungry Like the Wolf (M/F) – Not Yet Written

Rocky Mountains, 1823 – Silas Chase finds a Native American woman, Tala, in one of his traps. Not only is he unprepared for nursing her back to health, but the lonely mountain trapper is unable to resist her savage charms and the hunter becomes the prey.

‘Til Death Do Us Part (M/F – Married Couple) – Not Yet Written

As if overnight, Rachel Sexton’s husband Jeremy cannot keep his hands off her and she has the fiery relationship she’s craved. But something’s missing from her memories and she’s plagued with horrendous nightmares. As Rachel pieces together last week’s events, the truth is graver than anything she could imagine.

I Love You In Pieces (M/F) – Not Yet Written

Kim Thanos and Steve Morse wake up in a barn. But the night is fuzzy for them and several of the other party-goers who attended the same rave party the night before. Kim and Steve head home to discover they have a voracious appetite…and not just for food. Sex is wild, hard and both are insatiable. But they’re not the only ones…and it’s spreading fast.

    1. Hi, Vihous!!

Actually, there hasn’t been a lot of interest in these stories. They get downloaded a lot through my website, but they don’t get much traffic on Amazon and I don’t have a lot of reviews, either here or external sites (e.g., GoodReads, B&N, Amazon, etc.). When asked, I’ve had many readers tell me they loved the stories, but aren’t interested in the others because they’re all standalone and they want more of the same worlds and characters, like what happened to Marty and Russell at the end of “One To Die For”. This is one of the reasons why I make them free. Because there hasn’t been a lot of encouraging feedback or interest, I’m writing other things that readers seem to be asking more of, like the Bonded By Blood Series and spin-off stories from that.

I do plan on getting the rest of these done in the series, which I’ve outlined here, but probably not until next summer.

Thank you so much for asking!!

  1. That is a shame. I like standalone books mainly because I don’t have to wait months and or a year for the next book to become available and then the vicious cycle starts anew. Don’t get me wrong, I like series and have a lot of them but standalone’s have a beginning, middle and an ending all in one book. One may have questions but they know the story is finished and can then go on to reading something new. Have you ever thought to write the other stories and combine them into one book and sell it that way? You could sell the book say for $0.99 the first month it comes out and then mark the book up to what price you think would be fair? However you do it, I look forward to reading the other standalone books when they are published!!

And Thank You for answering my question. 🙂

    1. Thanks very much for your comments and input. It’s a funny thing…standalones don’t really sell. I’ve heard many readers say they like them, but the numbers just don’t prove that. Very interesting. And when I have written a standalone, I’m always asked, “When is the sequel coming out!” LOL

I have thought about putting them in a collection. I wanted to get them all done and then do exactly what you suggested. Unfortunately, short story collections aren’t big sellers either. I love these stories and they will definitely get written…just need to pay the bills first. 🙂

Thank YOU for asking the question. 😀

  2. I love these sexy/petite storys. I read them quite a while ago (1 to 2 years) and just re-read them. I wish you would put out some of the ones that are not written yet. They look very interesting. Looking forward to another. Thanks for the fun shorts. I also really love your other books. I have bought many of them, if not close to all of them. Your a great author. Keep those juices flowing. I noticed in your comments that people are not reviewing the books. I’ll make sure to write a review for both of them. Later Gater.

    1. Hello, Deborah!

I’m super jazzed you love the short dark erotic stories and I’m glad you’re enjoying them again and again! I would love to put out more of those stories, which I have planned, but I have a few things on my plate now. Remodeling the house after extensive water damage, writing Book 6 of my series and then I have another project lined up. If I can get two more shorts out in between, I’ll definitely let my VIP Club know about them!

And thank you thank you thank you for your wonderful and encouraging comments about my stories as a whole. I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the stories I tell. Once I get this damn house done, I’ll be back to writing full-time. I’m ACHING to write, but I have no kitchen right now. I’m tired of eating microwaved food! LOL And thank you for any reviews you can write. That’s one of the best ways to show an author your appreciation. Mwah!!

      After ‘while, Crocodile!!
