Plain and simple. I collect email addresses through my newsletter on Substack, lead magnets, and personal contact with people who request to be on my mailing list. Those email addresses are ONLY used in connection with my professional writing life.

I will NEVER give your email address to anyone without your permission. I DO NOT sell my mailing lists, and I do not send you anything that is not connected with me, my books, or my services.
