Ah. Paris.

I stepped through the automatic doors of the airport and the cool breeze of the late evening hit my face. I shivered in the familiar energy of my birthplace.

This city has been through so many transformations over the centuries, and my relationship with it has changed almost as much. There were times I hated it. Couldn’t wait to get away from it. And then there were times like this when I felt like I was coming home.

I was born here. Suffered here. Died and was resurrected here. There was a part of me that would always love and hate Paris.

I hailed a taxi and asked the driver to take me to the Montparnasse Cemetery.
