Imagine that. A vampire who wasn’t an opportunist.

Dean’s words wounded me. Because they weren’t true.

I spied on Dean through magical means. Used that knowledge for my own agenda, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to pursue the Shadow Veil without her, so I used Maion’s pain to pursue it.

I was most certainly an opportunist.

And I’d hurt her in the process. That was my biggest regret.

Now I had to make it right by giving her space while I kept my vow to watch over and protect her.

“I’d like to know about your origin story,” Dean had requested after he shared his heartbreaking past. “How did you become a vampire and what does the goddess Hecate have to do with you going after the Shadow Veil?”
