Episode 08: Tension and Trials

I set the standing trays of the vampire and werewolf elixirs onto the altar next to the beaker holding a portion of my blood. Two glass droppers were on a dish beside the beaker.

In the parlor, Julian and Dean had assembled the five members from each faction to receive the potions with my angelic blessing. The vampires stood on the right side of the room, and the werewolves stood on the left. Jessica, Julian’s sister, stood near the altar beside her brother.

The tension was thick enough to taste—bitter and hot.
